WHAT IS A PRESSURIZED WALL?
A pressurized wall is a temporary wall that can be installed to create two or more rooms from a single space. The interior framework of these walls applies pressure between the floor and ceiling to hold the walls firmly and securely in place. Dr. Wall custom fits sheetrock (aka, “drywall) panels that are then attached to the framework so that your temporary walls have the sturdy look and feel of most permanent walls.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A TEMPORARY WALL OVER A PERMANENT WALL?
Unlike permanent walls, Dr. Wall’s pressurized walls do not require nails, screws, or any other type of fastener that would damage your or your landlord’s floors, ceilings, or existing walls. This is why our walls are considered so “landlord friendly.”
When you decide that you no longer need your pressurized walls, just call Dr. Wall and we will remove it at no additional cost. As with installation, wall removal will leave behind no mess or damage and your space can be returned to its original condition.
WHAT CAN I DO WITH PRESSURIZED WALLS?
Roommates: Add another bedroom in your apartment so you can share the costs of living in New York while keeping your possessions and privacy to yourself.
New Baby: It’s never too early to give them a room of their own.
Office Space: Partition your space to maximize you and your employees’ productivity and customer impression with a few strategically placed walls.
Home Office: Create a separate work space free from the distractions and noise in the rest of your home.
Closet/Storage Space: Unused corner space? Maximize your storage space with a closet.
WHAT DO PRESSURIZED WALLS LOOK LIKE?
Beautiful, solid, and snugly fit along your ceiling, floors, and existing walls! Almost no one visiting your apartment will know they are temporary walls.
WHAT COLOR ARE PRESSURIZED WALLS?
Dr. Wall will paint your pressurized walls on site after installation is complete. We will attempt to match the existing color of your apartment walls as best we can using the Benjamin Moore standard whites color chart. We will paint only one color. If you’d like to repaint your temporary walls, you must first obtain express written permission from Dr. Wall first.
HOW THICK ARE PRESSURIZED WALLS?
4.5 inches [aprox. 11.5 centimeters]
CAN I HANG THINGS ON A PRESSURIZED WALL?
You can hang up to 30 pounds [approx. 13.5 kilograms] on our pressurized walls. This would include light things such as small mirrors and pictures, but not heavy things such as flat screens and bookshelves.
We can reinforce a specific area on the wall so you can hang heavy objects. Please let us know before installation.
You may not, however, attach any hooks or other items that will puncture, scratch, or otherwise damage the surfaces of our doors.
ARE PRESSURIZED WALLS SOUND PROOF?
Dr. Wall offers free sound insulation on all the temporary walls we install!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “PRESSURIZED WALLS,” “PRESSURIZED ROOM DIVIDERS,” “PRESSURIZED ROOM PARTITIONS,” AND “TEMPORARY WALLS”?
Pressurized walls, pressurized room dividers, pressurized room partitions are all common names for temporary walls with the look and feel of “real” walls when installed by experienced and creative professionals. Different individuals may simply prefer different terms.
Dr. Wall’s pressurized walls are also referred to as “systems” because they can do so much more for your space than simply create two rooms from one. Click here to view beautiful and innovative examples
